General description

In 2012, Carbon 64 (Thermal Design Office) and IDEA (manufacturer) led the first certified passive house located in the south west of the Aquitaine region. Convinced by the concept of passive houses, Didier Rospide, the owner of this detached single-family house of 210m², argued that the best way to promote the concept was to prove that the result could be consistent with what was expected.

Energy efficiency and use of renewables

The double-flow system used allows the house to have the winter comfort without any heating systems. It carries a complement of heating of 1700 Watts only (equivalent to a towel dryer). In 2013 a study was carried out on the energy consumption of the house, the result showed that the primary energy requirement was less than 100 kWh/m².a
